Noritake Morimura Celery Dish, Hand Painted Japanese Porcelain with Cobalt Blue with Gold Raised Relief Design, Elegant China Serving Dish

Noritake celery dish with handles. The beautiful 10 inch oval dish has a deep cobalt blue color on a white porcelain and heavy gold accents along the rim, handles and throughout the design. The Greek key design, popular in during the Art Deco period, is highlighted in gold around the rim of the dish. The gold is also heavily applied on the raised relief floral patterns in the medallions along the inside rim of the dish. There is little loss of gold on the celery dish only that which would be commensurate with age and use as pictured in photos 3 and 4. There is a very tiny little round spot near one handle. It is probably about the size of a pin point. I have also tried to show it in photo 3.
The lovely bowl is free of chips, cracks and crazing and would make a wonderful gift for someone who collects Noritake china. The deep blue cobalt color would also compliment an Imari collection or Asian decor.
The early Noritake Morimura bowl has a makers mark dating it between 1921 and 1940. The mark on the underside of this dish is the wreath with the capital M with represented the Morimura family which was used between 1914 - 1940. The dish is also marked Hand Painted, Made in Japan. The company began using the name Japan instead of Nippon which was an older name for Japan in 1921 due to import regulations.
