Antique Transferware Platter, Doulton Burslem Assouma Meat Platter,Blue White Antique English Aesthetic Movement Platter with Juice Well,

Rare Antique Doulton Burslem Assouma meat platter. The platter dates to 1888 during the Aesthetic Movement which is represented in the floral blue design. The platter or meat tray measures 21.5 inches in length and has a juice well at one end. The underside of the platter actually is raised to give the appearance of feet.
The platter does have the Doulton Burslem hallmark with the pattern name Assouma. There is also the imprinted Doulton mark and the numbers 10 88 which probably represents the month and year the platter was made.
For the age it is in wonderful condition. There is some crazing and there are a couple of small nicks on the rim ( Please see photos 5 and 6 ). It is a fabulous platter that can be used or displayed especially if you collect blue and white ironstone or transferware.
