An original Wayne Spradley watercolor painting of a tree stump. The vintage painting is one of his earlier paintings and is dated 1971. It appears to be in the original frame that is a dark wood with the original mat. I did take the painting out of the frame to clean the glass and on the back of the frame was the artist's original card from 1971.
Wayne Spradley is a very well known Alabama artist that is primarily known for his watercolors. He began painting in 1968 and is still presently painting and conducting workshops.
He has won over 300 major art awards and his painting was chosen for the 1980 Alabama State Duck Stamp. His work was selected for display in the Alabama State Senate and House floor. His work is found in corporate and private collections in the South and the U.S.
This is a wonderful painting if you like landscapes, woodland art.
