Wooden Asian jewelry box. A large vintage wooden jewelry box with images of Japanese Geisha women. The box appears to be made of walnut but it could be another wood. It is a warm colored wood with brass hinges. The top of the box has a painted design of a temple and water with two Japanese Geisha women. The women appear to be made of something similar to resin. The box has two doors at the bottom with similar images and women.
The lift top reveals a mirror on the inside with a pocket to the side, as well as a larger compartment and two smaller divided compartments. The doors at the bottom open to 3 large drawers. The drawers have small wooden pulls.
This is a lovely jewelry box with a large amount of storage. The flocked red velveteen interior is in nice condition, with minimal wear. One of the Geisha women on the doors appears to have a small part of her bun missing but it is rather hard to see.
