Schofield Sterling Baltimore Rose salad fork. A beautiful antique sterling silver floral repousse salad fork by The Schofield Company. The pattern, Baltimore Rose was introduced between 1905 and 1910. I have 4 forks and each is being sold separately. All four forks are in lovely condition with no monogram and only light wear commensurate with age and use.
All four forks are marked Sterling with three small assay marks, a diamond, circle and diamond. The Schofield Company had the three marks with an H in the first diamond, a Lion's head in the circle, and a S in the last diamond.
On these four forks the shapes are evident but the initials and Lion's head are worn. On two of the forks you can faintly see the S in the last diamond.
These are beautiful forks and could actually be used with Kirk Repousse pattern if desired.
The Schofield Company began operation in Baltimore Maryland in 1903 by Frank Schofield. In 1967 it was sold to the Stieff Company. Baltimore Rose was one of the most favorite patterns and it was believed that the company actually cut the dies for the pattern.
