Antique Silver Bridal Basket, Middletown Plate Co. Renaissance Revival Bride's Basket, Bright Cut Floral Design, Wedding Bridal Accent

A beautiful antique bride's basket by Middletown Plate Company, from Middletown, Connecticut. The basket is a renaissance revival design with heavy scroll and cutwork silver trim. The feet are flared with a basketweave design with scroll work along the rim. The outer rim of the basket is absolutely beautiful with a heavy cut work and scroll. The center of the basket has a bright cut floral pattern. The handle will stay upright as shown in the photo, but may fall down after a few hours.
The basket is marked: Middletown Plate Co. with an image of scales and quadruple plate. It is also marked 1924 under the scales.
It then has the words Hard White Metal, B. C. Gilt.
Middletown Plate Company was started in 1864 and continued in operation until 1899 when it became a subsidiary of International Silver company. The Middletown Plate mark with the scales was used until 1921.
