A beautiful antique Nippon celery dish. The Japanese porcelain oblong bowl has a large amount of gold along the rim and in the decorative design along the inside of the bowl. There is delicate gold beading around the rim and in the design. It is also hand painted with a soft pink and light pale celery green. The lovely bowl has an handled opening on each end.
It is marked with the old Nippon mark with a small 1/4 inch leaf with the word Nippon under the leaf and the words Hand Painted, with all the lines in the marking being solid and heavy.
The bowl or celery dish is free of any chips, cracks or crazing. The only thing I can see is where there is a little loss of the gold on the corners of the bowl as pictured in photo 3.
The celery dish is so lovely and perfect for a small decorative bowl for a chest or display or to use if desired.
